Music / Choir

Music at Lanier Christian Academy is designed to develop the innate musical gifts God has given each of us.

Early elementary classes learn developmentally-appropriate research-based singing and rhythm skills in a nurturing, play-based atmosphere. Starting in the 2nd grade, students learn the basics of notating music, advancing through the upper elementary studies in recorder and ukulele.

At the upper school level, musical literacy is reinforced along with developing the natural voice. Students practice correct diction and vowel placement, rhythmic accuracy, choral intonation, and music reading skills. Students are exposed to a variety of musical styles, including classical, gospel, and show choir.

All grade levels have performance opportunities throughout the year, including the ACSI music festival and bi-annual trips to New York City and Orlando to share the love of Christ through music.
