Visual Arts

Lanier Christian School offers a solid foundation in art that benefits all students and prepares them to express themselves in a visual, media-driven society.

In early elementary art, we work to establish a love of art through exploration while teaching the student fundamental principles mixed with art history.

As students progress into upper elementary, we give them specific tasks and goals that increase their awareness conceptually and help them take ownership for more complex pieces. In middle school students learn the process required to produce professional pieces. Students begin to learn techniques that strengthen drawing skills and elements within their final pieces. In high school students receive guided lessons but primarily work within their individualized plans for their independent study that incorporates their media of choice.

Students who desire to pursue art as a degree in college develop portfolio pieces and are guided as they participate in competitions. Building artistic skill equips students in all fields of study to complete projects, build presentations, and present themselves professionally.
