The transition between Elementary and Middle School can cause both student and parent to become a little anxious. We want to help alleviate some of those common fears by allowing the fifth-grade students to experience Middle School.
We wanted to include some information about middle school to help prepare families for the transition.
- 6th and 7th grade students will rotate electives every quarter. This rotation will include Art, Preforming Arts, Intro to Computers and Music. The students will also have PE throughout the year. Students do “dress out” for PE so they will need PE uniforms. The girls and boys are split for elective courses.
- Students will change classes, and some of the classes will be on opposite sides of the campus. Students are monitored for safety during class change.
- Students will have access to lockers. This is an item that will be covered on the first day of school.
- Students will participate in D-Groups and Chapel (YAY). Mrs. Anderson will tell you all about D-Groups.
We hope this information will excite your child about his/her upcoming sixth-grade year! Our LCA Middle School Staff can’t wait to love our rising sixth graders!
